Santai Studio run a small number of classes and courses, and in between these our members are welcome to come and create!

We host a small group of hobby potters as members. Members must have some introductory experience such as a short course or multiple classes.

 

Santai Studio is a welcoming and inclusive, non-competitive environment, where we all care for and respect the space and each other.

Studio Memberships

Member Basics

  • Pricing: Membership is $132 per month. Payments are by direct debit. Members can pause or cancel their membership with two weeks' notice.Access: Members enjoy flexible access to the studio outside of class hours. Bookings are not required. A public calendar shows availability.

  • Studio Space: Each member is allocated one shelf in the studio for storing tools, clay, and work in progress.

 

Clay, Glaze, and Firing

  • Clay & Glaze: A variety of mid-fire clays are available. We sell clay in a bundle which also includes bisque firing, glaze firing and studio brush on and dip glazes, for $10 per kilo of clay. Specialty glazes (Amaco & Mayco) are available for an additional fee.

  • Firing: Pottery is fired at cone 06 (bisque) and cone 6 (glaze).

 

Studio Use & Equipment

  • Members have access to the shared studio equipment, such as a slab roller, pottery wheels, large timber work and wedging tables, heat gun, throwing and trimming tools, hump molds, banding wheels, paint brushes, stamps and texturisers.

 

Health & Safety

  • Health and safety are a top priority. Members must clean up after their session, ensuring tools, equipment and workspaces are left tidy and free from clay dust.
